The Challenge
Founded in 2012, Carbon Responsible works with clients like Soho House and Arsenal F.C. As the market grew crowded with competing tech solutions, they faced a key challenge: evolving while preserving their legacy.
Having rebranded ClimateTech company Cogo before, we knew the sector well. Our aim was to position Carbon Responsible as a trusted partner combining data accuracy with human expertise setting them apart from faceless SaaS providers.
Sustainability reporting is now front and centre across industries, from sports to finance. Yet many businesses struggle with accurate impact measurement, facing backlash from consumers and regulators alike.
Our Approach and Reflections:
Having worked on the launch of a ClimateTech business during what felt like its peak in public consciousness, we’ve always championed moving away from clichéd visuals and storytelling in the sustainability sector.
Carbon Responsible was particularly compelling because of its timing. We’re entering a ‘second wave’ of awareness where businesses are re-evaluating the ambitious targets they set to achieve by 2030 and now need to be realistic and pragmatic about what is possible.
This is where we felt Carbon Responsible needed to be placed. The calm, pragmatic voice in the room — a steady, grounded presence amidst a lot of noise. They didn’t need or want to claim they would lead the charge for the future of business and impact like many other players that have cropped up over the years. Instead, they focused on making meaningful progress that will result in actual impact.
